In Pyramids, Teppic is the heir to the throne of Djelibeybi, an ancient tiny river kingdom wedge between Ephebe and Tsort. All his life, Teppic has known that time goes on in Djelibeybi, but nothing really changes and the dead must be placed into pyramids. When he is sent to Ankh-Morpork to learn a trade at the Assasin's Guild, he is introduced to a whole new life and way of thinking. But when his father dies, he is drawn back to Djelibeybi to take his place and build his father a pyramid bigger than any built before. But no one is prepared for the dimensional distortion caused by such a structure, and things get weird when the gods start to roam the kingdom and the dead refuse to stay dead...
