Guards! Guards! takes place mainly in the famed city of Ankh-Morpork. Everyone on the Disc thought that the legendary dragons were just that, legends. But when one begins to appear out of thin air to terrorize the city of Ankh Morpork, Captain Vimes of the almost defunct Night Watch is one of the few people to realize that things are not as they seem. A crime has been committed, a crime involving a magical theft, a secret society, swamp dragons, and a plot to reinstate the monarchy. Along with the three remaining members of the Night Watch—Sergeant Colon, Corporal Nobbs, and trainee Constable Carrot—Vimes is on the case.
